DENTAL CARE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES offers to qualifying patients limited preventative and restorative treatment. Provides free dental services to children and young adults who are both disabled and from a low-income family in Iowa. Income of clients' family should be under 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Client must have a disability and not have dental insurance or be qualified for Title XIX or the Hawk-I Program.
Dental services that are available consist of comprehensive preventive and restorative dental treatment. No orthodontic services or cosmetic dentistry is provided. Dental Treatment Under General Anesthesia Program does not pay for medical expenses related to dental treatment under general anesthesia including physician charges, operating room fees, anesthesia and recovery room fees.
Treatment is provided in Iowa City at the Center for Disabilities and Development along with dental offices located across the state, including: Altoona, Ames, Ankeny, Bellevue, Carroll, Cedar Rapids, Council Bluffs, Creston, Des Moines, Dubuque, Laurens, Marshalltown, Mason City, Monona, New Hampton, Nora Springs, Onawa, Sioux Center, Sioux City, Story City, Waterloo, Waukon and West Burlington. Program is funded by the Iowa Department of Public Health.
